Position Highlights

The College of Social and Behavioral Sciences (SBS) is accepting applications for a part-time Administrative Support Assistant I to support the programing, events, and activities of the inaugural Living-Learning Community for SBS Students at The Arbol de la Vida Residence Hall. The position reports to the Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs & Student Success. Staff in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences work in a collaborative environment to provide excellent support to administrators, area directors, staff, and students. A successful candidate has a high level of organization, dedication to a team approach, accuracy of work, timeliness, and excellent communication skills.

Duties & Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of the Administrative Assistant will be to
support the program, events, and activities of the LLC. The successful
candidate must have excellent organization and communication skills. The
position will require occasional evening and weekend work. Job duties
include:

  • Support the programing, events, and activities of the SBS LLC.
  • Create and maintain a calendar of programs, events, and activities including office hours for faculty and advisors.
  • Manage a check-in and out system for materials and technology.
  • Manage a guest list for visitors to Arbol participating in LLC programs, events, or activities.
  • Work with the Community Director (CD) to reserve space for programs, events, and activities.
  • Coordinate programming with campus partners including logistical support and scheduling.
  • Open and close programs, events, and activities.
  • Support in tracking attendance and other assessment measures.
  • Support the management of the LLC student cohort.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience may be required.
