Required Relevant Education & Experience:
Five or more years of successful and progressively responsible experience in broadcasting, broadcast journalism, publishing and/or digital media at a supervisory or instructional level
Master's degree in related field required

- Indiana State University is looking for a media professional with academic qualifications to serve as Executive Director of Student Media. Student Media is a well-funded, non-degree department that provides media production experience for students across campus in a large, modern, centrally located space. All of our student-staffed units are managed by professional-level staff. Our units include WZIS-FM, a popular music radio station; Sycamore Video, which produces video news and entertainment programming for the campus cable system; the Indiana State Sports Network, which livestreams Sycamore Athletics for ESPN3 and ESPN+; the Indiana Statesman, a two-day-a-week campus newspaper; The Sycamore yearbook; and Syc Creations, a corporate video production company. All units have a strong online presence through isustudentmedia.com. Student Media also includes WISU, a radio station that simulcasts National Public Radio in partnership with WFYI of Indianapolis. The Executive Director provides oversight, manages the professional staff, ensures equipment and facilities are in good order, and represents the department on campus. A master's degree is required; a PhD is recommended. Five or more years of successful and progressively responsible experience in broadcasting, broadcast journalism, publishing and/or digital media at a supervisory or instructional level is expected. Experience teaching college level courses or the ability to do so is ideal.
