Western New England University, a comprehensive private institution located in Springfield, MA, seeks a dynamic Associate Director of Undergraduate Admissions who will be responsible for assisting in the strategic planning and coordination of all undergraduate admissions activities, including the coordination of the undergraduate campus visit experience and any recruitment initiatives.

Reporting to the Executive Director for Admissions Outreach and Recruitment, this individual will be instrumental in implementing key strategies to meet the University’s undergraduate enrollment goals. The Associate Director will play a key role on the Enrollment Management team by assisting the Executive Director for Admissions Outreach and Recruitment and the Executive Director of Undergraduate Admissions in all aspects of training and guiding the undergraduate admissions team in effort to meet annual enrollment goals. This position will involve managing a recruitment territory, overnight travel, interviewing prospective students, evaluating applications, telecounseling, and related recruitment activities that includes some evening and weekend hours. The Associate Director will have opportunity to help shape the future direction of the undergraduate recruitment program with ample opportunities for professional development. 1. Will be responsible for the managing the undergraduate team in the absence of the Executive Director for Admissions Outreach and Recruitment and the Executive Director of Undergraduate Admissions.

2. Will assist in the direction and coordination of admissions activities to obtain the desired enrollment of new undergraduate students.

3. Will be responsible for, or assist in the planning of, all campus visit experiences such as, but not limited to, Group Visits, Open Houses, Academic Preview Days, the Golden Bear for a Day Program, etc.

4. Will be able to perform job duties successfully with minimal oversight.

5. Responsible for conducting research and providing information regarding high schools and two-year institutions in his/her assigned territory, along with advising staff regarding in best practices in their travel territories.

6. Provide information and conduct research on trends in enrollment management and higher education.

7. Represent the University at high school visits, transfer events, University fairs, Regional Receptions, alumni events and other functions.

8. Expected to cultivate strong relationships with school counselors and to review applications in an accurate, consistent and timely manner.

9. Develop and deliver presentations regarding Western New England University, the admissions process, financial aid and other topics to various audiences on and off campus.

10. Experience working with transfers students is desired, but not required.

11. Various other tasks as assigned by direct supervisor.

Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with various individuals, teams, and audiences within and outside of the University. 8 Willingness to work either independently or as a part of a team, based upon the needs of the Executive Director for Admissions Outreach and Recruitment or the Executive Director of Undergraduate Admissions. 9. Ability to multi-task as a member of a team in a fast-paced environment and problem-solve quickly. 10. Ability to review, understand and apply concepts presented in training programs and conferences, or contained in the professional literature and governmental regulations.11. An understanding of the important relationship between systems and operations, including the ability to contribute to improving operational efficiency.12. Willingness to devote sufficient time and energy to accomplish the position’s responsibilities.13. Solid computer skills, including experience working with higher education ERP and CRM systems, are preferred.


1. At least five years of progressive experience in an admissions/enrollment management setting.2. Previous event planning experience recommended.3. Commitment to customer service, sensitivity to student concerns and diplomacy in communicating with constituents.4. Master’s degree required.5. Ability to operate an automobile.6. Ability to carry University materials to and from University fairs (including pack suitcase and boxes of materials).7. Valid driver’s license.
