Traffic/Print Production Manager - Design Center

The Design Center manages the development and design of a variety of print and web-based marketing, recruiting, fundraising and marketing materials, from conceptualization to delivery. The design staff has extensive experience in graphic design and strives to achieve a consistent visual identity for Ringling College. The Design Center Team works directly with on-campus and external clients to identify project objectives and provide creative design solutions to fulfill those objectives.

The Traffic/Print Production Manager is responsible for managing the process (scheduling, traffic, bids, production and delivery) of all institutional marketing materials, publications and event-related design jobs from concept through production, while under tight deadlines. The Manager ensures all jobs meet the required budget, quality control and postal regulations, as necessary; conducts weekly job status meetings to gather and share information with the rest of the team; and re-evaluates priorities based on job status changes and resource availability.

The incumbent will evaluate incoming projects and makes recommendations to Design Center Directors to delegate workload to internal and/or freelance designers; directs movement of all jobs through the creative development process; foresees and takes the initiative on scheduling conflicts; and negotiates with vendors using discretion and judgement. The Manager works with Design Center students and student assistance to turn their creative projects into production ready files.

• Quality management/proofing skills.

• Enjoys collaboration and is a team player.

• Must have excellent skills negotiating with vendors and suppliers.

• Must be tenacious about constantly monitoring schedules and requesting materials.

• Ability to prep files for printer.

• Ability to format graphic elements, text and images.

• Preferred experience with Mac computers, printers, scanners and relative software, including Adobe CS products.

Minimum Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and work experience.

· Two years of relevant work experience.
