Position Highlights

Institutional Knowledge Map (KMAP) at the University of Arizona is in search of a KMap Business Analyst (IT Business Analyst I). KMAP collects, connects, analyzes, and visualizes the institutional knowledge landscape. The KMAP is an advanced data science system that uses unstructured data such as grants, abstracts, publications, patents, news, achievements, and courses to provides an interactive geographic map.

The successful candidate will provide data-driven recommendations for business problems, translate institutional business processes to requirements, evaluate data quality, and information representation, and create documentation for the KMap system.

Duties & Responsibilities

Duties & responsibilities:

  • Data validation and evaluation the KMap system
  • Helping with planning, scheduling, and developing KMap features
  • Create business cases and improve user experiences of the system
  • Help with identifying the data gap in the project, and collecting and processing them
  • Generate KMap reports, documentation, epic, user story
  • Additional duties may be assigned

Knowledge, skills & abilities:

  • Knowledge of IT business processing techniques and tools
  • Strong communication skill in working with external and internal team members
  • Knowledge about the software development lifecycle

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in business / IT-related field and a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
  • Coding experiences in the python programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on RDBMS or No-SQL-based database
  • Experience with data analytics and modeling
  • Experience with user experience study and software requirement analysis
  • Experience with the Agile approach and the Jira systems
  • Experience reading and writing technical documents for software projects
