The Area Coordinator is a full-time professional staff member. This position reports directly to the Assistant Director of Residence Life.

Responsibilities:
  • Creating and maintaining a residence hall environment rooted in the Four Pillars of learning, serving, welcoming, and celebrating
  • Encouraging and supporting high-quality residence hall programs
  • Supervising a Head Resident Assistant and 10-15 Resident Assistants
  • Upholding community standards and holding disciplinary meetings
  • Participating in Resident Assistant recruitment and training
  • Responding to campus crises as a member of the on-call duty rotation.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Student Affairs or related field;
  • Residence Life experience at the professional or graduate level
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • The ability to work on multiple programs and activities simultaneously
  • Computer knowledge
  • Supervisory skills
  • Candidates should also possess an understanding of student development theory and must have an appreciation for and congruence with the Catholic mission of the University.
