Position Highlights
The Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) supports, facilitates and coordinates the daily research/clinical trial activities and plays a critical role in the conduct of the study, as well as organizing research activities to support the Department of Urology. The CRC helps to support the research activities of the faculty members by providing administrative support and working directly with study subjects, physicians, residents, clinic staff, medical students, research administrators, and other researchers. The CRC works closely with the principal investigator(s) and has a diverse set of duties ensuring that the study is run in compliance with the protocol and good clinical practices. Duties & Responsibilities
- Participate in the development of research protocols and submit the required documentation (e.g., applications, informed consents, and protocol documents) to the Institutional Review Board, the University, and/or sponsors.
- Develop administrative and budgetary recommendations for new projects.
- Prepare and maintain regulatory documents in accordance with UA IRB and/or applicable regulations.
- Coordinate multiple research projects simultaneously.
- Develop, maintain and update protocol information and database content.
- Participate in data collection and data entry.
- Develop strategies to ensure increased study awareness and subject enrollment.
- Maintain compliance all aspects of clinical trials, including but not limited to diagnostics, as required by the study.
- Screen potential patients for protocol eligibility, may present trial concepts to the patients, and obtain informed consent.
- Obtain medical histories, conduct medical assessments, and serve as a patient resource for concerns, education, training and information.
- May provide patient treatment including administration of medication.
- Ensure proper collection, processing, and handling of specimens.
- Coordinate daily operations including ordering and maintaining laboratory supplies and equipment.
- Train research team members.
- Develop strategic analyses regarding the operating procedures and budget compliance.
- Oversee all reviews of studies and projects.
- Assist Principal Investigator(s) with grant writing, preparing scientific manuscripts and presentations for scientific meetings.
- Evaluate scientific literature to construct correct research procedures, methodologies and techniques.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
- 3 years of relevant work experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications
*Experience in RedCap or other clinical database. *Knowledge of clinical labs.
