Position Announcement

Utah Tech University Advancement is hiring a Donor Relations and Annual Giving Coordinator to serve as an integral member of the development team, playing a key role in advancing annual giving and donor relations efforts. This position must be self-motivated, creative, detail-oriented, possess strong organizational and communication skills, and be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. This position requires ability to maintain complete discretion while dealing with highly confidential financial and donor information.   • Manage a comprehensive Donor Relationsprogram that appropriately and consistently promotes interaction with and recognition of donors at all levels. This includes but is not limited to:
    • Managing stewardship plans for donor recognition/stewardship events, plaques, publicity plans, and customized reports of gift impact.
    • Plan and execute successful spring scholarship event to bring together scholarship donors and scholarship recipients.
    • Work as a back-up to the Advancement Services Manager, utilizing Blackbaud Raiser's Edge software proficiently.
    • Utilize Raiser's Edge reports and lists for event invitations, donor honor roll and special mailings.
    • Prepare written donor-related documents for various events and publications, including video tribute script citations, event scripts, etc.
    • Support the Director of Alumni Relations in planning and executing alumni donor correspondence and events.
    • Work closely with the development team to plan and execute on and off-campus donor events.
    • Inform University Marketing and Communication (UMAC) department of gifts that require publicity and special recognition.
  • Develop and implement a successful Annual Givingstrategy for increased dollars and donor participation, alongside the development team. These efforts will broaden Utah Tech's base of support and strengthening the major gift and planned giving pipeline.
    • Design and implement initiatives to strengthen existing annual giving events: Trailblazer Day of Giving and Giving Tuesday.
    • Work with Alumni Relations to create strategic annual alumni giving opportunities.
    • Collaborate with student leadership to increase student and parent philanthropy.
    • Increase employee pride on campus through promotion of employee giving at Utah Tech.
    • Lead efforts that continue to increase annual giving through workplace giving programs and corporate match opportunities.
  • Bachelor's Degree in communication, public relations, business or another related field required.
  • At least two (2) years' experience in cultivation, donor relations, advancement or alumni relations required; experience in higher education preferred.
  • Substantial Blackbaud Raiser's Edge or another fundraising database experience required. Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise independent judgment, take responsibility, prioritize projects, while adhering to numerous deadlines simultaneously.
  • Ability to understand basic policy and systems utilized in private giving, including confidentiality and stewardship; prior experience planning and executing cultivation and recognition events preferred.

POSITION DETAILS, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Full-time professional staff (overtime-exempt) position. Annual salary of $50,000 - $53,000 depending on qualifications & experience. Desired start date of September 2022.
