Clark State College serves more than 6,500 students throughout the College's four campus locations in Springfield, Beavercreek and Bellefontaine, and Xenia Ohio as well as our extensive offering of online classes. This position has the responsibility of assisting with the implementation of student financial aid and performs other departmental duties as needed. Processes Return to Title IV Funds recalculations. Timely processing is required to maintain federal compliance, maintain integrity of student record and accuracy of federal aid disbursement eligibility. Coordinates Consortium Agreement to process federal aid for dual enrolled college students, and ensures departmental scholarships/grants are distributed to students in a timely manner.


  • Provides financial aid advising to current and prospective students and their parents, including the resolution of financial aid concerns within federal, state, local and institutional guidelines.
  • Provides individual advising to students regarding application procedures, awarding deadlines and reporting requirements.
  • Provides general advising regarding admissions, procedures, academics programs and registration processes.
  • Assists with packaging of awards as needed, including verification and correction of data.
  • Reviews aid adjustments and resolves financial aid over-award within federal, state, and institutional guidelines.
  • Handles professional judgment appeals with students, including dependency overrides and special circumstances.
  • Responsible for R2T4 (Title IV withdrawal calculations), adjusting aid accordingly, notifying students of all adjustments within strict Department of Education timeframes using Informer reporting
  • Processes corrected and initial financial aid applications electronically.
  • For consortium agreements, processes consortium agreements as directed by the US DOE regulations, maintains contact with student and other institutions to process agreements, attendance verification, SAP and aid disbursements.
  • Serve as Foundation and other departmental scholarship coordinator.
  • Reviews Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) appeals sharing load with designated Financial Aid Specialists and serve on SAP appeal committee coordinator.
  • Assist with new year set-up and testing of Colleague Financial Aid module.
  • In absence of Director, serves as “go-to” for student issues for both financial aid office personnel and all college offices.
  • All other duties assigned by supervisor.


  • Master’s degree preferred; Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Five years financial aid experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience


  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Knowledge of financial aid programs
  • High degree of initiative and self-director
  • High degree of sensitivity and personal integrity and discretion required for work involving access to personal and confidential information.
  • Ability to accommodate a demanding workload and multi-task
  • Computer literate

Salary: $55,000 annually
