Position Highlights
University Information Technology Services (UITS) is accepting applications for the position of Cloud Computing Engineer I within IT Support Services. The Cloud Computing Engineer I will be responsible for managing and maintaining two university SaaS systems. The first system is Apporto Virtual Computer Labs, the university's solution for virtual lab management through the VCAT service. The second system is VMWare Workspace One UEM, the university's solution for desktop and laptop computer management through the TLC service. Management of these systems will include proactively meeting with employees, students, and product vendors to identify service offering improvement opportunities. The Cloud Computing Engineer I will be part of a small technical team but will be involved in cross training and piloting both service offerings to university employees and students.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in the management and
maintenance of two university systems: - Apporto Virtual Computer Labs, the university's solution for
virtual lab management through the VCAT service. - VMWare Workspace One UEM, the university's solution for desktop
and laptop computer management through the TLC service. - Collaborate with employees,
students, and product vendors to identify service offering improvement
opportunities. - Manage existing applications and
publish new applications within both systems. - Monitor system configuration and
identify automation opportunities to streamline management. - Additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or
equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required, and at
least 1 year of experience in a customer service role. - OR, an Associate's
degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Information Technology
or related field with at least 3 years of experience, including at least 1
year in a customer service role. - OR, Any equivalent
combination of experience, training and/or education.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in bulk computer management for physical computers.
- Experience in bulk computer management for virtual computers.
- Non-Technical customer service experience.
- Technical customer service experience.
- Powershell and Bash scripting experience.
