Position Highlights

The University of Arizona Department of Mining and Geological Engineering (MGE) invites applications for one part-time, non-tenure-eligible, adjunct lecturer position to begin in August 2022.

Teaching undergraduate portion of cross-listed undergrad and grad courses to include:

Fall semester MNE 427/527 - Geomechanics and

Spring Semester MNE 447/547 Underground Construction Geomechanics.

The successful candidate should have a strong commitment to teaching at the University of Arizona and to student engagement. Successful candidate will be required to provide credentials such as diplomas and/or transcripts.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Hold class twice a week during the semester in which the course is taught.
  • Assign homework, hold office hours, and administer exams.
  • Organize course material in the D2L online management system.
  • Successful candidate should have a strong commitment to teaching at the University of Arizona, and to student engagement.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree in mining engineering, geological engineering, or geotechnical engineering, AND at least five years of experience teaching subject area of assigned course.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in mining engineering, geological engineering, or geotechnical engineering, AND more than five years of experience teaching subject area of assigned course.
