Position Description:
Identifies, recruits and enrolls eligible participants for the program's target schools; develops and implements community workshops, forums and other special events to provide outreach and awareness for the Educational Talent Search (ETS) program; provides academic, personal and career advising and tutoring to students; develops and nurtures ongoing relationships with area school districts, school personnel, colleges and community partners to ensure successful completion and coordination of program goals and objectives; assists prospective students with college, financial aid and scholarship applications; provides and ensures professional development for team members; transports students to events as necessary; and assists in the supervision, management and evaluation of staff.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in education, educational administration, counseling, social work, or related field required.
Required Qualifications:
At least three years of experience working with low-income, first generation, or other disadvantaged and under-represented populations required.
Desirable Qualifications:
Master's degree; experience in education, TRIO, higher education, business administration, or social services; demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a variety of constituents through written and verbal communications; experience compiling and using data to effectively problem solve; demonstrated knowledge of financial aid, financial literacy, academic and career advising, and college admissions and selection process; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; and demonstrated ability to write and secure local, state or federal grants preferred.
