The Contract Officer (Grant and Contract Administrator IV) will work closely with Arizona International leadership and with the Office of General Counsel, Risk Management, Procurement, and other internal subject matter experts to facilitate the implementation of Pillar 4 of the University of Arizona strategic plan by assisting with contract management relating to the University's global locations and partnerships. The Contract Officer will facilitate the contract management needs of Arizona International in a fast-paced environment to review, execute, and renew international agreements.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Arizona International functional leads and Office of the General Counsel to timely draft, review, negotiate, and prepare contracts for a variety of education partnership and procurement agreements
  • Manage approval processes, contract life-cycle management, and record keeping for all Arizona International agreements
  • Provide contract-related issue resolution internally among constituents
  • Monitor and initiate contract close-out, extension, or renewal, as appropriate
  • Communicate contract-related information to all internal stakeholders
  • Generate reports on the status of existing agreements and partnerships to support compliance and business objectives
  • Explain terms and conditions to internal regional directors as needed
  • Stay up-to date with legal, regulatory, and other business climate changes and report changes to internal stakeholders
  • In collaboration with the Office of the General Counsel Review, review, and revise Arizona International contract templates to reflect changes in University policies, applicable regulations, and laws
  • Maintain organized system of physical and digital records using Contracts Management Database
  • Supervisor responsibilities including organizing workflow, ensuring employee understands his/her duties or delegated tasks, monitoring employee productivity and providing feedback, coaching, and guidance
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of legal requirements, terms and issues involved with contracts and partnership agreements in higher education and global mobility
  • Administrative leadership skills, including creative problem-solving and the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines concurrently
  • Excellent writing skills

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree, JD, or Bachelor's degree in combination with a relevant professional certification with progressive responsibility with quantifiable results in contract administration and/or management
  • Experience with university and college systems, program development, and cultural protocols in the US and abroad within the identified region
  • Prior experience supporting cross-border transactions or partnerships
