Assistant Director, Student Counseling Center

Felician University, the Franciscan University of New Jersey is seeking a dynamic, student-focused counseling professional to serve as the Assistant Director of the Student Counseling Center. The Assistant Director is responsible for supporting the Director in the provision of all clinical services for students, as well as providing individualized counseling. S/he coordinates all programs and trainings for the students of Felician University and assessing all departmental programming. The Assistant Director responds to psychological crises, as well as provides consultation and outreach to members of the Felician community who work with students. S/he creates and delivers programs on all mental wellness topics, with a concentration on Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) prevention and education. The Assistant Director is responsible for the Biennial Review process for Federal compliance on substance use/abuse services, and serves as a member of the Student Affairs team, collaborating with cross-divisional colleagues as needed.

Required Education:

Master’s degree in counseling, psychology or social work

Qualifications:

Current NJ License as an LPC, LCSW or Psychologist; proven experience with a college population or adolescents/young adults; demonstrated experience serving clients with substance abuse issues; proven experience with program implementation, coordination, and assessment; comprehensive knowledge of contemporary health, mental health or social issues on college campuses; demonstrated knowledge of, sensitivity to and ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds; superior organizational, interpersonal and written and verbal communications skills; strong presentation skills; ability to create and utilize record and basic office technology; willingness and ability to support and promote the Felician Franciscan mission and values of the University.
