Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

The Department of Theatre & Performance Studies at Kennesaw State University features a rigorous B.A. program that emphasizes both the artistry and scholarship of the creative process. Kennesaw State University is located near the lively artistic community of Atlanta, Georgia and the Department of Theatre & Performance Studies thrives within a supportive College of the Arts. Our student body is fully representative of the diverse Metro Atlanta community, and we actively seek to have a faculty that reflects this diversity. Within this program, the Design Tech Concentration is a dynamic force, offering education in the design and production areas of costumes, scenery, lighting, and stage management.

Job Summary
Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a pool of open rank, part-time faculty positions in Theatre and Performance Studies beginning August 2022. These positions are on an as needed basis. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities
The Department of Theatre and Performance Studies is accepting applications for part-time faculty to teach undergraduate courses in the lower division, including, but not limited to, Theatre in Society, Applied Performance and Production.

Part-time faculty are hired from the school's pool of applicants on a semester-by-semester basis. Applicants may be asked to teach in various modalities (face-to-face, hybrid, and online).

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Required Qualifications
An M.F.A., earned doctorate, or a masters degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Theatre or Performance Studies, or a master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a related field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline is required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • A minimum of two years collegiate and/or professional teaching experience is ideal, along with an established record of professional experience in the field.
  • Evidence of teaching and working with a culturally and an ethnically diverse community.
