Job Summary
Leads the designing and implementing visual merchandising standards for the Bookstores, Markets, as well as other Retail Services areas. Successful outcomes include creating brand and store standards, growing sales, and increasing engagement of our customers. Works in collaboration with a number of individuals and groups including directors, managers, student assistants, Campus Services Marketing, vendors, and others.

Responsibilities
  1. Plans, creates and executes overall visual merchandising strategy for Retail Services locations
  2. Writes and implements style guides for all University Stores
  3. Designs appealing merchandise displays in order to attract visitors to the store and increase sales
  4. Designs various window, floor, and endcap displays
  5. Identifies and tracks key KPIs related to visual merchandising strategies
  6. Collaborates with directors, management, and store staff
  7. Assists in review and revision of existing documents related to visual merchandising such as plan-o-grams
  8. Works with marketing to design and create signs and marketing campaigns
  9. Creates special promotions and related visual merchandising initiatives
  10. Produces and presents KPI reports
  11. Adjusts displays in order to promote new products and special offerings
  12. Facilitates the procurement of displays, fixtures, and other visual merchandising supplies
  13. Works with vendors, suppliers, buyers, and managers to create special buys and related visual merchandising
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in visual and/or fashion merchandising, exhibition design, visual communications, or similar relevant field or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience

Other Required Qualifications
Current, valid and unrestricted Georgia driver's license

Required Experience
Five (5) years of experience to include at least two (2) years in a visual merchandising role, two (2) years of retail or related field and one (1) year with window merchandizing and floor displays

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Experience
Proven track record of growth and success as a Visual Merchandiser or in a related role.
Experience with visual software (such as Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)

Able to stay current with and informed of industry and market trends

KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge and understanding of innovative visual merchandising trends and best practices
Experience training and educating team members on all levels on visual standards

SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), project management and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)
Outstanding time-management skills
Excellent implementation skills
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
