Job Description

Head Coach

Full-Time :salary commensurate with relevant experience.

Basic Function and Responsibility
The head swimming and diving coach is responsible for
organizing, conducting and supervising all aspects of an NCAA Division I men's
and women's swimming and diving program.

Characteristic Duties
Direct all aspects of the competitive swimming and
diving program including skill development, practices plans, dry land training,
competition scheduling and competition day preparation and coaching.
Supervise academic progress, student-athlete personal
growth and development and create a positive team culture.
Organize and implement an overall recruiting plan that
includes identifying talented prospects, building a recruiting database, engaging
with prospects and organizing campus visits.
Responsible for preparing and managing the budget
Collaborates with the development staff to maintain and
establish relationships with alumni and secure donations to supplement budget
Trains, supervise and evaluates assistant coaches for
swimming and diving.

Supervision Received
General direction is received from
the Director of Athletics.

Supervision Exercised
Functional supervision is exercised over one full-time
assistant coach and one part-time diving coach.


A Bachelor's Degree in
physical education or an equivalent combination of education and
experience is necessary.
Successful coaching
experience at the collegiate level or strong high school coaching
experience is preferred.
Some supervisory
experience and a reasonable knowledge of pool operation, maintenance and
programming is necessary.
