Job Description

Administrative Assistant

Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range: $42,350 to $52,950; salary commensurate with relevant experience.

Reporting to the Chair of the Art, Art History and Film Department the
Administrative Assistant assists the Department Chair and Faculty with all
administrative work of the department. Manage,
create and schedule courses for each academic semester through the University's
curriculum database. Coordinate event management planning. Responsible for coordinating
the part-time faculty budget. Responsible for hiring and supervising student
employees. Works with the chair and the financial service center to monitor
budgets. Liaison to BC community and outside vendors. Assist visitors with
tours and information about the department. Handles referrals from other high-profile
departments such as Admissions, Athletics, Parking, Student Services, Registrar,
Dean's Office, and Provost's Office.

Requirements

1-3 years administrative experience with a preference for Higher
Education or the Arts

BA preferred

Excellent interpersonal skills with enthusiasm for public-facing
environment.

Successful candidates will have an interest in/knowledge of the
arts; excellent technology skills; demonstrated initiative and responsibility with
ability to follow through and complete tasks.
