Position Overview:
Rider University invites applications for psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) resource faculty in the MSN, and Post-Master's Nurse Practitioner programs. The Nursing Program is under the College of Education and Human Services in the Graduate Education, Leadership, and Counseling Department. Nursing Programs are offered exclusively online. This adjunct faculty position will begin on September 1, 2022. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The successful candidate will provide their expertise and guidance for curriculum evaluation of the psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner concentration in the graduate nursing program. Responsibilities will include program assessment and curricular revision in the PMHNP concentration courses, mentoring of students, cultivating clinical practice placements, and collaboration with faculty and stakeholders in setting the direction of the nursing programs.

The candidate is expected to conduct all roles and responsibilities of the position. The candidate will attend program, department, college, university, and other committee meetings as determined by the nursing program director.

Position Requirements:

  • A terminal degree such as a Ph.D, Ed.D, or D.N.P.
  • National certification as a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as an RN and APN in New Jersey
  • Five years' experience practicing as a nurse practitioner
  • Two years' experience teaching in academia

Position Preferred Qualifications/Experience:

  • Experience teaching in nurse practitioner programs
  • Experience in online teaching
  • Evidence of scholarship (presentations, publications)
  • Current practice experience as a nurse practitioner
  • Curriculum development and/or program assessment experience
