Position Highlights

Reviews, tests, evaluates, builds, delivers, and maintains technology solutions that enhance efficiencies and operations. Provides expertise in technology strategy, policies, plans, deployment, and maintenance of the University of Arizona's Campus Recreation's applications, systems, and hardware infrastructure for security and ongoing end user services. Installs, configures, and maintains 3rd party systems software including operating systems, utility software and job control languages. Assists in management, trainings, data entry, reporting, and collaborate with UITS regarding systems operations.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides support to end users for PC, applications, hardware, and network issues.
  • Recommend and implement system modifications to reduce user problems and increase efficiencies.
  • Installs, configures, updates, maintains, and documents systems software including but not limited to operating systems, utility software, job control languages, and related applications systems.
  • Researches and resolves systems related technical questions and problems from users, management, and other technical staff. Acts as liaison between users and vendor support personnel.
  • Participates in the planning, installation, and implementation of equipment interfaces and peripheral devices.
  • Monitors the security and integrity of systems and data. Reviews and acknowledges systems failures and participates in taking corrective action.
  • Participates in coordination of systems activities with other internal and external systems and as a team member on systems software projects.
  • Coordinates configuration/installation and general troubleshooting of hardware and software.
  • Develop and maintain seamless operations during online systems.
  • Create, update, and maintain hardware and software inventory items.
  • Management of Campus Recreation's Information Technology budget.
  • Create, develop, and deploy user profiles and end interfaces with potential restricted operations for each department area.
  • Keep up with current trends and best practices as it relates to information technology and security
  • Provide on-going training to staff to ensure software is used in most efficient manner.
  • Uphold University of Arizona policies and procedures, such as FERPA training, security awareness training, and sexual harassment training.
  • Promote diversity, inclusion, awareness, responsibility and collaboration
  • Other related duties and projects as required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with University of Arizona's systems and BlueCat.
  • Arizona Driver's License or ability to obtain within the first 30 days of employment.
