The College of Social and Behavioral Sciences (SBS) is seeking an Administrative Operations Professional II to work with an SBS Department(s). The successful candidate will manage unit finances, grants, program fees, and many other complex business and financial matters. It is important that the candidate be able to perform these tasks at a high level with transparency and a keen eye for accuracy.

Business personnel in the College of SBS work to provide excellent business support to administrators, faculty, staff, and students. They work independently and collaboratively to provide excellent business management and customer service. The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical and budgeting skills and has experience utilizing financial processing and data management systems. As well as demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills, organization skills, and the ability to prioritize and multi-task working both independently or in a team environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform all day-to-day business functions
    including, but not limited to, disbursements, account maintenance and
    reconciliation, procurement, fund transfers, and purchasing card
    transactions.
  • Independently manage and control accounting, budgeting, auditing and other financial or related functions to ensure the financial integrity of the large organizational or academic unit(s).
  • Complete financial forecasting, financial planning and any needed analytical review. Prepare high level financial and budget reports to meet the needs of Heads/Directors and Principal Investigators.
  • Oversee the the review, approval, and reporting of expenditures assigned to the research portfolio. This includes post-award management, effort report certification and cost share management.
  • Perform human resource functions to include but not limited to personnel hiring, job and employee data changes, and leaves and termination processes.
  • Work with faculty to prepare budgets and required certifications for grant proposals.
  • Establish efficient business practices and keep up to date with policies, regulations, and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in related field of study.
  • A minimum of 3 years work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in related field.
