Technical Director for Theatre and Media Services
Hesston College seeks a full-time Technical Director for Theatre and Media Services. This 10-month position begins in July 2022, and will be responsible for the direction of all audio and visual services campus-wide as well as the technical direction of all theatre productions. The successful candidate will work in collaboration with theatre faculty for the scenic and lighting design and the audio and visual qualities of all stage productions. The Technical Director will also train, supervise, and manage student workers to provide media services to campus that produces high-quality live-streams of events which comply with copyright and FERPA requirements (includes athletic competitions; performing arts; formation; and campus-wide events).
The successful candidate is creative, self-motivated, and organized with strong leadership and communication skills.
A BA or BFA in Theatre (an AA in Theatre Arts with extensive experience in stage projects, such as carpentry, scenic and lighting design, and construction, will be considered) and previous experience with production software (to include Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) and video editing software is required). Knowledge and understanding of sound and video equipment is preferred; however, the successful candidate can be trained upon hire if other qualifications are met. This position will require evening and weekend work.
