Job Description
Job Summary
Site Coordinators are responsible for managing, organizing, and supervising all aspects of VITA site operations and are expected to provide effective site management for volunteers and taxpayers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide site and volunteer data to VITA program administrators.
- Gather, maintain, and submit timely statistical reports.
- Recruit, supervise, and develop positive working relationships with volunteers.
- Ensure IRS Volunteer Standards of Conduct are followed by all volunteers.
- Discuss IRS Volunteer Tax Alerts, QSR Alerts, CyberTax Alerts with volunteers.
- Ensure IRS Quality Site Requirements (QSR) are followed by all volunteers.
- Answer questions from volunteers and taxpayers in a courteous and helpful manner.
- Facilitate and monitor online tax preparation between taxpayers and volunteers.
- Attend Coalition Site Coordinator trainings as necessary.
- Ensure all tax returns prepared are submitted to the IRS for processing in a timely manner.
- Provide site and volunteer data to VITA program administrators.
- Ensure the VITA site stays clean in accordance with City of Laredo and CDC guidelines.
- Perform other, related duties as assigned.
- Education - High school diploma or GED.
- Bilingual (Spanish and English)
- Previous experience as a VITA Site Coordinator.
- Working knowledge of Word and Excel.
- Fluent in English with ability to speak basic, conversational Spanish.
- Advanced Tax Law Certification must be obtained prior to site operation

This position generally supervises employees.
Other Requirements:
- Willingness to work evening and/or weekend hours.
- Position is temporary, subject to funding and/or need.
