Position Highlights

The successful candidate will be part of the Achilli Research and Teaching (ART) Lab at the WEST Center. The ART Lab conducts research on advanced water treatment systems and processes for water treatment. in the Lab, the Research Professional II will design, organize, manage, and carry out research of water purification systems and develop models of such systems. They will conduct experimental and theoretical research by utilizing test-beds available at the WEST Center.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Design, monitor, and control experiments using engineering-scale systems for advanced water treatment. Use data science to analyze data from such systems and develop surrogate models to predict treated water quality and detect systems' faults. Evaluate treatment performance of water treatment unit-processes.
  • Participates in the acquisition of research funding by collaborating in the writing of grant proposals for data science for advanced water treatment.
  • Collaborates and author articles in peer-reviewed journals, books, or chapter publications that stem from the research performed. Participates or presents at conferences.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in chemical engineering.
