Position Highlights

The Associate Mentor, Venture Programs is responsible for providing student engagement and mentoring for the McGuire iVenture Program and the Tech Core program. This role supports organizing, collaborating and delivering common services toward student experiential learning in the iVenture Program, Tech Core Program and other experiential learning.

The McGuire Entrepreneurship Program is an award winning, national leader in entrepreneurship education attracting graduate and undergraduate students representing disciplines from across campus.

Duties & Responsibilities


  • Monitor progress of students and student teams including but not limited to E3, iVenture, NVD, and Tech Core
  • Provide mentoring and support of student ventures related to product ideation, funding, legal requirements and other startup activities
  • Conduct meetings with student teams on an as-needed basis: weekly, bi-weekly, etc.


  • Support iVenture and McGuire Center leadership in communication with alumni and other external partners.
  • Assist McGuire Directors and Associate Directors in identifying opportunities for alumni to contribute to Venture Program success.
  • Participate in and support Venture Program events.
  • Execute internal or external initiatives related to Venture Programs as directed by McGuire Center Executive Director and Director.


  • Organize and/or support development of video or written content to be used in experiential learning.
  • Review content from UA ecosystem partners that may be used in experiential learning.
  • Continuous improvement of the organization and delivery of asynchronous content.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.
  • Up to 1 year of relevant work experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in entrepreneurship training and mentoring.
  • Background in product underwriting specifically in consumer goods and services.
  • Background in formation of startup ventures including incorporation, funding, and operating agreements.
