Location
Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Job Summary
Supervises work assignments of multiple skilled discipline shops. Manages time and materials on projects and performs inspections of external contractors for maintenance, renovations and repairs to university property. Assists Director with ensuring facilities are structurally sound, mechanically operational, electrically efficient, and safe.

Responsibilities
1. Supervises maintenance team in routine maintenance of facilities, equipment and systems

2. Assures completion of assigned maintenance tasks

3. Assists with training personnel in proper use of test equipment, hand and power tools, and shop safety

4. Assists with monitoring work flow and work assignment schedules

5. Maintains accurate records on equipment

6. Assists with documenting cost of maintenance repairs and services

7. Complies with and enforces policies, laws, and regulations governing environmental protection, hazardous waste disposal and use of chemical substances and materials

8. Provides around-the-clock responsiveness to mechanical failures or emergencies including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent

Other Required Qualifications
Current, valid and unrestricted Georgia driver's license

Required Experience
Ten (10) years of experience in the repair and maintenance of industrial or commercial facilities

Preferred Qualifications
Additional Preferred Qualifications
State license: HVAC or Electrical
Energy Management Certificate
EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification or other EPA, EPD, ASHRAE or OSHA Certification

Preferred Experience
Experience in mechanical, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), electrical, plumbing and refrigeration

Proposed Salary
Pay Grade: E10

The budget for this position is between $50,900 and $78,000. Offers will be based on candidate experience and budget availability.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
ABILITIES
Ability to diagnose and trouble-shoot equipment malfunctions and system failures

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines

Ability to develop a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and interaction with other cultures or backgrounds

Ability to lead and develop a motivated multi-discipline cohesive team

Ability to provide suggestions and requests for changes to established practices, policies and procedures to management

Able to work hours outside the normal work schedule including mandatory overtime

KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of current codes, standards and work practices Working knowledge of EPA, EPD, ASHRAE, OSHA regulations and standards

Experience using Building Automation Systems

Experience using Integrated Work Management Systems/Computerized Maintenance Management Systems

SKILLS
Skilled in proper use of test equipment and hand and power tools

Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills

Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite)

Strong attention to detail and follow up skills

Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
