Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Conducts acquisition and analytics of data for decision support and student success. Participates in educational research related to the operation of the institution and predictive analytics, including studies on students, faculty, staff, curriculum and/or organizational processes.
1. Uses database query tools, statistical and analytical software, to extract, manipulate and analyze data trends and patterns
2. Designs, develops and tests predictive models to identify campus outcomes for various units
3. Provides data summaries, trends, and patterns by using data visualization tools (SAS VA, Tableau) and reporting tools
4. Researches projects and prepares reports that address campus issues or topics using sound research methodology and techniques
5. Responds to requests for information and studies from leadership in a timely manner. Assist the office and data stewards in improving data quality through a variety of techniques and methods such as audit reports, identification of derived data elements to include in data warehouses to improve the report writer experience, and advocacy for new or improved business practices of data collection
6. Assists to establish standards and business processes for reporting including template design, visualization, data models, query libraries, and data dictionaries appropriate to support the university
7. Compiles standard and ad hoc reports per established guidelines and frequency
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in related field
Three (3) years of related experience
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Mathematical Statistics, Data Science, Analytics or Computer Science
Higher Education experience
Previous experience performing data analysis
Previous experience in quantitative and mixed methods research, statistical techniques and use of statistical packages such as SAS, SPSS, R, Python, or Stata
Pay Grade E12
The budget for this position is between $56,120 and $80,000. Offers will be based on candidate experience and budget availability.

Able to determine the appropriate sources of data and then adeptly obtain and synthesize results into talking points
Able to offer reasonable alternatives when necessary
Able to utilize quantitative and mixed methods research, statistical techniques and use of statistical packages such as SAS, SPSS, R, Python, or Stata
Detailed oriented with the ability to recognize and investigate data anomalies; exceptional analytical, conceptual and problem-solving abilities
Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet strict deadlines as part of a fast-paced problem solving team, working with minimum supervision
Ability to organize research results and conclusions for effective presentation in a wide variety of formats and situations
Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines
Proficiency with spreadsheet and data visualization (Tableau, MS Power BI, Excel, R or SAS)
Proficiency in SQL and data management techniques
Proven writing/technical graphic ability to create documents that are well written and can be readily understood by various audiences
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
Intellectually curious thinker with a passion for discovering solutions in large data sets
