The Shared Services Center at West Virginia University is currently accepting applications for a Talent Acquisition, Workforce Administration Specialist.

About the Oppportunity

This position serves as a transactional recruiter in the search and hire process for the talent acquisition team. This position will resolve more complex and difficult cases (Tier 2) that are received via phone, email, the HR portal, or other access channels that pertain to the talent acquisition process. The incumbent will use case management tools to respond to and track employee and manager inquiries, using judgment, experience and knowledge and using independent thinking abilities. Accountable for timely and effective response, resolution, and escalation of incoming talent requisition inquiries, in accordance with established Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and creating a positive experience for the applicants and new hires.

What You'll Do

  • Demonstrateservice excellence and positive interpersonal relations when assisting hiring managers, HR Partners others with creating position requisitions in the applicant tracking system (Taleo/WVU HIRE). Workcollaboratively with clients to collect all necessary data required to complete the requisition in an accurate and timely manner, including position descriptions.
  • Completethe compensation section of the requisition for established positions, including salary range, SOC Code, and Workers Compensation Code, for routine, existing positions for review by COE.
  • Draftcreative ads for job posting and reviews with HR Partner for review/approval.
  • Postads to various job boards via applicant tracking system and other methods.
  • Workwith social media specialist to highlight job openings, as necessary.
  • ProvideTier 2 support and responds to escalated issues from applicants about the status of applications, hiring timeframes, etc.
  • Assessapplicants for position requirements (education, experience, license, etc.) in WVUHIre and identifies qualified applicant. May rank qualified applicants to help facilitate the hiring process.
  • Conductinitial phone screening on selected candidates and provide summary of results to hiring managers/HR Partner.
  • Conductreference checks and initiate background checks on selected candidates.
  • Draft routine employment offer letters for review.
  • Extendapproved employment offers to candidate.
  • Collaboratewith HR Partners and Center of Excellence to resolve new hire issues.
  • Collaboratewith other cross-functional team members to resolve employee issues in a thorough and timely manner.
  • Serveas a resource to Customer Service Agents to help ensure a high percentage of first time call resolution for customers.
  • Trackand monitornew hires through the onboarding process to ensure all documents and forms are completed prior to new hire start date.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Industrial Relations. Public Administration, or a related field, or equivalent applicable work experience. (e.g. Associates degree and two years of working in talent acquisition, Onboarding, or in an human resources administration role)
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in talent acquisition, Onboarding processes, or human resources administrative role. Demonstrated experience and strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access) and human resources information systems, preferably Oracle and Taleo applicant tracking system.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, meet established deadlines and, with composure, work in a face paced work environment.
  • Ability to research complex issues and prepare options for resolution.
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and demonstrated success with ability to build and maintain effective work relationships.
  • High degree of integrity and reliability.
  • Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft office products, such as Excel, Word, Access.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing exceptional level of customer service, to all levels of the organization.
