Position Highlights

The University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix is changing medicine by training physician leaders, making transformational discoveries and building healthy communities. The Marketing and Communications team is seeking a Content Developer III who will be responsible for all content on the college's website as well as training and collaborating with content contributors. You will work with an awesome Marketing and Communications crew to produce content that supports the college's strategic initiatives and connects with our diverse audiences.

You will tackle all web content, ensuring the university's and the college's voice, style and brand standards are maintained. If you are equal parts editor, creative writer, and engaging blogger, then you are the team member we need. We are building diverse audiences on local and national levels. Bring a proactive work style with great communication skills and the ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects.

Working with content contributors, you will build relationships with departments and programs to understand their needs and create web content to effectively communicate their messages. The Content Developer III reports to the Web Manager I.

The skills required include implementing best practices in web design, usability, information architecture, search engine optimization, analytics, accessibility, content development and management. The team member we seek has experience in the Drupal content management platform.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Handle day-to-day flow of requests for new content and changes to the college's website and the intranet in collaboration with content contributors and the Marketing and Communications team.
  • Top edit to ensure copy meets brand and quality standards; coordinate with stakeholders and Marketing and Communications team on production.
  • Build relationships with internal/external stakeholders to understand their needs. Create content and presentation that optimizes engagement.
  • Contribute to content strategy/agenda/pipeline for the college as a member of Marketing and Communications team.
  • Create and refine training program for departmental content editors.
  • Onboard and provide ongoing training for content contributors; coach as needed to optimize content throughout the research, writing and editing process.
  • Create and upload content using external platforms that link to the website, such as Blubrry, Flipsnack, etc. Contribute to development of new projects, scope of work, as needed.
  • Maintain knowledge base of best practices for web content and Google Analytics certification.
  • Collect and interpret monthly analytics to identify KPIs, SEO performance or other opportunities to improve web ROI.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Web design, web development, computer science, English, communications or related field.

* Experience working in a higher education environment and/or a health-related environment.

* Expertise in Web and social media management, applications and measurement tools.

* Exceptional writing and verbal communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, creativity and the ability to manage diverse assignments required.

* Experience promoting events, institutions, programs or expertise through Web and social media.

* Experience working with content management systems such as Drupal or other PHP-based systems.
