General Summary

This is a college-wide position based at the Boulder County Campus and will include travel between campuses and in FRCC's service area.

Who We Are

We are the largest community college in Colorado, enrolling close to 28,000 credit students annually in a diverse service area with broad cultural and recreational activities. Who You Are

This position promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and social justice through coordination of trainings, events, promotional campaigns, and other special institutional and community-based projects as they relate to DEI. This position directly assists the executive director in ensuring that all programming serves to advance the College's mission and strategic plan. The program coordinator works, collaborates, and partners with individuals and groups both within and outside of the College. Additionally, this position provides administrative support to the executive director and for associated committees and taskforces.

Please note: This is an on-campus position with an opportunity for remote work. You need to be a Colorado resident on your first day of employment.    

SALARY: $48,000-$50,000/annually

SELECTION PROCESS: Position will remain open until filled with a priority deadline of July 10, 2022. This post may be used to fill multiple positions.

At FRCC, masks are optional, but we allow individual staff and faculty to request students and colleagues wear masks in offices or in class. 

Primary Duties
  • Implement or support appropriate DEI-related programming for the college; act as liaison committees and with different departments to coordinate DEI programs. Collaborate across the college and the community to develop and implement an inclusive calendar of programming.
  • Schedule and organize program-related meetings and events. Manage and track enrollment in trainings and programs offered through the department.
  • Provide administrative support for the executive director and department; the Equity, Inclusion and Diversity Council; and other committees as assigned (e.g., Hispanic-Serving Institution Taskforce, Equity Academy for Instruction, etc.).
  • Support development of and monitor budgets (including grants).
  • Respond to internal and external requests for information which may include researching, analyzing and summarizing data.
  • Implement, monitor progress, and produce reports in connection with the college's equity plan.
  • Support the promotion of programming and activities assigned to the office; update and keep current the DEI webpages and Intranet.

  • Relationship Building: Regular representation of the DEI office collegewide requires the ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with a framework of trust, mutual respect, and commitment to team.
  • Critical Thinking: Promote a teamwork approach to assess a situation and to problem-solving. Ability to manage thoughtfully the personal, professional, and organizational dynamics related to DEI.
  • Communication (Oral and Written): Highly effective written and oral communication and public speaking skills are essential in all aspects of this position, including representation on various committees, promotion of professional development opportunities, and contributions to the website/Intranet.
  • Adaptability: Address opportunities and challenges that arise on a daily basis and develop solutions that support all involved.
  • Organizational and Time Management: Effectively, efficiently address multiple competing priorities.
  • Event Planning/Meeting Coordination: Effectively and successfully lead and implement events, projects, and initiatives without oversight or direction.
Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION/TRAINING & WORK EXPERIENCE: 
  • Associate's degree
  • Two years demonstrated experience in supporting and/or coordinating diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice endeavors. 
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating projects.
PREFERRED EDUCATION/TRAINING & WORK EXPERIENCE: 
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English)
  • Two years demonstrated experiences in supporting and/or coordinating diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice endeavors in a higher education setting.
