Who You Are
As the Bilingual Admissions & Outreach Representative, you project an effective and consistent image of Front Range Community College (FRCC) by educating prospective students and their families about all campuses and programs and encouraging them to enroll in the college as appropriate through various methods but with a specific focus on high school events like presentations, college/education fairs, application workshops, individual meetings, campus tours, etc. You will have a special focus on Latinx/Hispanic populations and responding accurately and timely to requests for information in Spanish and English while logging the interactions in the customer relationship management system (CRM).

Please note: This is an on-campus position with an opportunity for remote work. You need to be a Colorado resident on your first day of employment.

At FRCC, masks are optional, but we allow individual staff and faculty to request students and colleagues wear masks in offices or in class.

Primary Duties

Student Recruitment and Outreach:  
  • Develop relationships with local high schools and middle schools to promote the benefits of FRCC, including educational opportunities, campus resources, campus events, and scholarships.
  • Disseminate college and program informational materials to prospective students through audience-appropriate presentations both on- and off-campus.
  • Develop relationships with prospective students by responding to inquiries and requests for information in a timely manner via phone and email. Input new and prospective student contact information and any necessary notes into CRM. Follow up with contacts and prospective students as outlined by communication plans.
  • Greet and advise prospective students at college/education/career fairs. Coordinate and conduct campus tours for high school groups. 
  • Serve as the recruiter assigned for specific high school territories in CRM.
  • Assist in the planning, implementation and evaluation of special outreach events on campus, including open houses, pathway days, counselor breakfasts, and other large group visits.
  • Assist students with the enrollment process, including completion of admissions application and required forms, and referring students to appropriate resources as needed.
  • Assist in the ongoing development and implementation of the Campus Outreach Plan to align with the college inclusion work and enhance the diversity of our student body and achieve enrollment goals.
  • Travel frequently to local area schools and organizations.
Latinx/Hispanic Student Specific Outreach:
  • Organize and conduct campus tours and other presentations and events in Spanish.
  • Connect with community organizations that serve a high number of Latinx/Hispanic students and families.
  • Provide support for students and families with limited English skills who want to enroll at FRCC.
  • Serve and/or lead the college-wide Bilingual Committee.
  • Serve on on-campus committees related to Latinx/Hispanic prospective students, campus experience, access to higher education, and diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Assist with the development of recruiting materials, and specifically materials in Spanish, such as emails, flyers, brochures, etc.
Administrative Duties and Other Student Service Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the liaison between the Admissions & Outreach Department and related campus departments to coordinate services and programs that could promote future college enrollment.
  • Collect data and prepare reports that document activities and other information as requested.
Required Competencies
  • Professional level proficiency to read, write, and speak English and Spanish: Serve as a positive cultural broker with the Spanish speaking community. Assist with the translation of materials and provide effective interpretation. Support Spanish speaking students and their families with the college process.
  • Relationship Building & Collaboration: Relate to prospective students of all ages, as well as their family and supporters, to provide them with the highest level of customer service. Collaborate with other FRCC staff to develop strong relationships and programming. 
  • Communication: Speak effectively in English and Spanish to clearly communicate to small groups, large groups, or one-on-one about FRCC, enrollment processes, and resources. Create well-written newsletters, email correspondence, and resources. 
  • Presentation Skills: Develop and facilitate clear and effective presentations in English and Spanish to inform students, families, and community members about programs and processes.
  • Critical Thinking: Ongoing evaluation of outreach efforts and admissions practices. Provide recommendations on innovative changes based on research and promising practices.  
  • Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity: Work effectively with individuals and groups with diverse backgrounds and experiences. Demonstrated commitment to supporting students from underrepresented backgrounds. Provide all students with resources that will support them as they start their higher education journey and know that they matter. 
  • Work Independently: Take the initiative to connect with students, schools, and FRCC staff to support the enrollment goals for the college.
Qualifications

Required Education/Training & Work Experience:
  • Associate's degree and two (2) years' experience in student facing roles related to admissions, recruitment, student affairs, or higher ed. 
OR
  • Bachelor's degree and demonstrated experience in a customer service role
AND
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English
  • Experience working with diverse populations and cultures.
  • Strong computer software skills, especially Microsoft Office Suite, student information systems, databases, and customer relationship management systems. 
  • Highly motivated, self-starting, and enthusiastic. 
  • Flexible schedule with evening and occasional  weekend availability.
