Assistant Football Coach/Offensive Coordinator

PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION:
This individual is responsible for assisting with the overall operation of the varsity football program, working under the direction of the Head Football Coach.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Offensive Coordinator, Equipment Coordinator, manage distribution of inventory of football equipment, supervise the football team equipment managers, work with equipment manager with purchasing of football equipment and other duties to be assigned by supervisor. Recruit quality student athletes in conjunction with Admissions Office.

MARGINAL DUTIES:
University and community relations, community service, and assist in other departmental duties including contest management.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS: Must be able to work independently and supervise other members of the football staff.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations, demonstrated coaching ability, ability to mentor and lead people, ability to work effectively with other groups on Campus, ability to make athletics a vital part of WNE’s vision and mission, excellent public speaking ability

ERGONOMIC REQUIREMENTS:

1. Sitting, standing, bending, and reaching in a routine office environment

2. Sufficient mobility to independently negotiate the University Campus

3. Physical abilities to run an effective football practice

4. Manage and control the student labor within the football program

5. Contest management of selected winter and spring sporting events

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred in Physical Education, Recreation or associated fields. A minimum of 3 years university coaching experience requested. Strong work ethic, oral and interpersonal skills required. CPR, First Aid and AED are also required.

HOURS: 10-Month Academic Year
