Plan, coordinate, and administer support of day-to-day housing assignment office operations and processes. Responsibilities include administrative support of housing processes, housing management system development, reporting, customer service, and DukeCard administration for residence hall access.

  1. Plan, coordinate, and administer assigned housing processes. Establish process timelines, applications, and procedures unique to each housing process. Coordinate communications with students for assigned housing processes. Develop communications for website. Conduct information sessions with students and staff at the beginning of critical processes. 30%
  2. Perform housing assignment administrative functions including but not limited to housing management system development and reporting. Monitor and evaluate housing process effectiveness using qualitative and quantitative research techniques; investigate trends and recommend and implement modifications to improve program effectiveness. 25%
  3. Provide excellent and knowledgeable customer service to a wide variety of internal and external constituents. Greet in person, by phone, and via email parents, students, and university colleagues with attentiveness and a problem-solving mentality. Communicate effectively about Housing Assignment processes and procedures and respond to requests with accurate information and helpful referrals. Maintain liaison with other programs, offices, and departments at Duke to coordinate housing assignment processes and to accomplish Housing and Residence Life objectives. 20%
  4. Serve as back-up administrator for DukeCard and residence hall access. Assist with access requests, training, and administration of access in the residence halls. 10%
  5. Assist with the management of the department’s website. Complete updates to website, solicit information and media for postings. Ensure accuracy of information on website for students and parents. 10%
  6. Perform related duties as assigned or required to meet department, division and university goals and objectives. 5%
