The Talent Manager is responsible for planning, creation, coordination, implementation and evaluation of professional development opportunities. This position works with the Associate Director of Talent, Retention and Employee Relations to ensure successful execution of professional development program for all employees 

Essential Functions:

1. Maintain and uphold the College values of Learning, Excellence, Accountability, Diversity, Student Success, Teamwork, Integrity, and Respect. Regular attendance is required.

2. Complete all required College training and responsible for maintaining the skills necessary to complete the essential functions of the position as defined by the department. 

3. Student Success is the cornerstone of Western's culture and the college may assign employees as needed to other areas or additional duties to foster this success.

4. Maintain Professional Development Process - Supporting Action/Task May Include:

  • Direct staff that support day-to-day professional development activities.
  • Assist with College Professional Development procedures and recommend policy change.
  • Assist with developing learning opportunities and conduct staff development trainings
  • Provide oversight and guidance to employees in developing long-term professional growth plans and working with supervisors to support departmental and unit-wide development goals.
  • Build and maintain professional development calendar in coordination with development staff
  • Prepare training materials as needed
  • Identify learning strategies for employees
  • Conduct needs assessment for development opportunities

5. Provide Training and Assistance in Facilitation - Supporting Action/Task May Include:

  • Assist with the design, coordination and facilitation of Leadership Forum meetings.
  • Work collaboratively with the President or designee to plan and deliver College Days, convene work groups as needed
  • Plan, Develop and Facilitate New Employee Orientation
  • Assist with participation in annual development opportunities
  • Facilitate and coordinate Western READS program and develop other opportunities for establishing learning communities within the college.
  • Provide leadership and new manager training and support as needed 

6. Human Resources Liaison Work- Supporting Action/Task May Include:

  • Serve on internal and external committees to support professional development and equity initiatives.
  • Serve and lead various hiring teams as needed.
  • Assist in developing and conducting employee probation and professional review process.
  • Review, track and analyze qualitative and qualitative employee data to provide input to policy, process, and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in related field with 3 years occupational OR
  • Education in related field combined with related occupational experience totaling 7 years OR
  • Related occupational experience totaling 7 years

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree

Special Instructions/About Western:

This position reports to: Associate Director of Talent, Retention and Employee Relations

Starting annual salary range based on education and experience: $60,443 - $78,577

This position would include competitive salary, excellent benefits including medical, dental, WRS, Employee Wellness Programs and more.
