Case Manager - Student Access Services

Student Access Services is seeking candidates for a full time Access Case Manager. This position will work to manage the barriers to transitioning to Ringling College from a high school IEP, work with students and their families on navigating the campus resources that historically were part of the student’s IEP plan, but are no longer an accommodation. The case manager will work with higher-level need students to help transition them to a more independent college student. This will be accomplished through skill develop sessions, one on one and/or group sessions, and partnerships with campus resource offices and professionals for effective referrals and advocacy.

Additionally, the case manager will be responsible for classroom access needs and assessment each semester for identified students and partnerships with their faculty members to ensure planning for the physical needs. It is expected this person will serve as a member of the CARE team to gain insight into students’ needs through staff reporting and presented concerns, and will follow up with students that are on the SAS caseload.

As a campus resource, this position will be expected to consult with all campus services, including but not limited to: Library Services, Communications, IT, Student Learning Center, Academic Affairs, Career Services, Student Life, and all others.

  • Customer and Personal Service – proficient knowledge of principals and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of user satisfaction.
  • Advanced knowledge of federal, state, local laws, rules, regulations, and college policies
  • Proficient in case management notes, required documentation completed in a timely manner.
  • Knowledge of mental health.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Learning Management System (CANVAS preferred).
  • Experience working with diverse population.
  • Ability to communicate in a timely, clear, and effective manner.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing deadlines, management of sensitive details, and address multiple tasks that require timely completion.
  • Ability to adhere to ethical guidelines of confidentiality, professionalism, and rights to equal access.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Counseling, Sociology, Social Work or related field
  • Higher Education professional experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in relevant field
  • Training and licensure that incorporates DSM 5
  • Knowledge of Art and Design culture and curriculum
