Job Description

The Financial Aid Program Support Specialist I, under general supervision, performs specialist duties for the Financial Aid department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist students and parents with adjustments and correction to FAFSA application
  • Review professional judgement requests due to changes in circumstances
  • Provide technical and programmatic support for students.
  • Attends meetings to discuss the progress of assigned programs.

Minimum Requirements
  • Education - Bachelor's degree
  • Experience - Two years of prior full-time financial aid experience required.
Knowledge and Abilities

Knowledge of:
  • Word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • FAFSA regulations and guidelines
Ability to:
  • Multitask and work cooperatively with others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Maintains attention to detail and utilizes sound judgment.
Licensing / Professional Certification - None.

Supervision of Others
  • This position does not supervise employees.
Other Requirements
  • Weekend and evening work may be required
  • Position is part-time, up to 19 hours/week
  • Position is contingent upon funding and/or need.
  • Position is set to ending November 2021 with a possibility of extension or renewal.
