Job Description

Serve as Executive Assistant to the department head and as office manager. Work independently and with the department head to gathering data, organize, and prepare administrative reports for audiences internal and external to the university. Participate in planning and execution of complex projects. Work with the department head and other administrative staff in the department and college to establish business policies and procedures. Assist the department head in planning and executing meetings of internal and external stakeholders. Oversee departmental communications.

Required Qualifications

Previous experience providing executive level administrative support in a professional office environment; experience handling sensitive confidential information and documents; proficiency with office computer software such as Word, Excel, Access and Outlook; experience understanding, interpreting, and applying policies and procedures in a professional environment; ability to work independently with minimal supervision; capable of working and communicating with a diverse group of people; ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks; must be self-motivated, responsible and have strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Office management and or supervisory experience; working knowledge of university policies and procedures; experience working in an academic setting; experience supporting executive level staff in a complex academic environment; experience working with students; experience in project management.
