About the Role:

We are hiring for a Sr. Pricing Analyst at WGU! In this role, you will report to our Sr. Director of Finance. Our corporate headquarters are in Salt Lake City, Utah, but this can be a remote position, with occasional travel to Utah expected. (Preference is for this position to be located in the Western U.S. region.)

What you will do as a Sr. Pricing Analyst
  • Design learner centered pricing to maximize access to underserved learners while attaining sustainable margins

  • Develop and maintain robust cost models that incorporate drivers of program economics to enable agile modeling of various pricing strategies

  • Own end-to-end analytics workflow of pricing strategy, including defining success, implementing data requirements, conducting analysis, generating insights and hypotheses, monitoring performance metrics, and socializing them across the organization

  • Support B2B and employer partnerships by modeling deal economics and enabling financially viable agreements

  • Develop analytical capabilities grounded in data to enable pricing optimization at various levels of aggregation within WGU

  • Partner with various cross-functional teams to implement innovative pricing strategies with key strategic partners.

  • Utilize various WGU financial reporting systems to analyze price, volume, and profitability data of key learner groups.

  • Track and investigate financial and industry trends and benchmarks.

  • Conduct analyses on open-ended questions at the intersection of sustainability and access; present findings in a clear and concise manner to enable leaders to make timely and appropriate decisions

  • Review and analyze offerings post price recommendation to identify gaps between recommendation and performance

What you will need
  • 7-10 years of experience

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, engineering, or another quantitative field

  • Advanced Excel expertise, including very high-level modeling design and development skills. Can conceptualize and create sophisticated, driver based financial models based on entity analysis and discussions with supported leaders. Able to forecast new concepts and market dynamics.

  • Experience with pricing, product, and market analysis.

  • Experience with subscription pricing models and product licensing.

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills

  • Robust knowledge of best financial analysis practices, tools, and techniques. Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with accounting treatments as needed.

  • Capacity to multi-task, including juggling support requirements for 6-8 organizations simultaneously

  • Ability to organize, coordinate and direct projects and to lead innovative, strategic initiatives

  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Must have executive presence and ability to dialogue with very senior executives. Outstanding leadership and organizational skills within a complex, diverse, fast-paced, and rapid-growth environment.

  • Must be able to work independently, with minimal oversight

What would be nice to have
  • MBA strongly preferred

  • Experience in a product or pricing analysis strongly preferred
