Position Highlights

The Asthma & Airway Disease Research Center seeks an outstanding candidate for an Administrative Support Professional. The ideal candidate will assist the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) Data Safety Monitoring Board (DSMB) Chairman and Leadership Team in initiating and managing Data Monitoring Committees (DMC) on behalf of clinical trial sponsors. The candidate will analyze and prepare confidential reports for DSMB members utilizing the secure web portal, monitor and manage the expenditures of each project and submit monthly invoices to clinical trial sponsors - reconcile accounts and payments received reporting to CFF grants and accounting office. The successful candidate will maintain calendars, make travel arrangements, and prepare expense reimbursements, attend and assist in the coordination of Continuing Medical Education (CME) for the Board, in addition to attending and assisting in the coordination of the CFF Therapeutics Development Network (TDN) annual spring meetings.
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) established a Data Safety Monitoring Board (DSMB) in 1999 to monitor clinical trials in the Cystic Fibrosis (CF) patient population, the goals being to ensure participant safety and scientific integrity. The DSMB thrives under the leadership of Drs. Wayne Morgan, Lynne Quittell and Richard Simon. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) Data Safety Monitoring Board (DSMB) is responsible for protecting the safety and welfare of people with CF who participate in clinical trials approved by the CFF's nonprofit drug discovery and development affiliate. The DSMB is comprised of experts in the field of CF with a core leadership group.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain multiple Primary Investigator's calendar/daily activities.
  • Arrange and process travel for DSMB Chairpersons.
  • Update DSMB Chairperson's CV, Licensing, and Credentialing.
  • Cross-train with current DSMB Coordinators to support their activities and
    back-up as needed.
  • Provide administrative support to DSMB Chairperson.
  • Initiate, manage, and close out communications between clinical
    trial sponsors and the DMC.
  • Assist in the generation and revision of DMC
    Charter documents.
  • Oversee communications between the clinical
    trial sponsors and the DMC.
  • Assist with organization of national continuing
    education sessions for the DMC members.
  • Schedule conference calls between DMC members
    and the Sponsor's clinical trial team, initiate and attend conference calls.
  • Record and create minutes for editing and
    approval.
  • Manage the collection, organization, and
    storage of all confidential information held by the DMC in a highly secure
    fashion.
  • Draft formal recommendations from closed
    sessions for Chairs editing/approval and signature; finalize and send to
    clinical trial sponsor in PDF format.
  • Track DMC and Sponsor related issues to
    resolution.
  • Coordinate annual renewal work for DSMB members
    with training and confidentiality agreement processing.
  • Collaborate with the DSMB Program Manager to
    manage the Sharepoint website and to provide backup.
  • Assist with DSMB special projects.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained
    through experience required.
  • 1 year of relevant work experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

*Stellar organizational and management skills with the ability to manage several projects simultaneously. *Excellent written and verbal communication skills. *Demonstrated technological skills in Microsoft Office applications & data management applications, (SharePoint preferred). *Ability to work with senior management on appropriate response and action to emerging issues. *Experience in the health industry and clinical research preferred.
