Job Description

Responsible for assisting the College of Education with recruitment and in providing essential services to students with regards to University services, processes, and procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible with recruitment and in providing essential services to students with regards to University services, processes and procedures.
  • Provide essential services to students of the College of Education including, but not limited to, providing information about University services, processes, and procedures: referring students to appropriate offices that address particular student issues; supplying students with appropriate institutional forms and materials; helping students resolve registration/enrollment problems; and assisting with monitoring student progress while on academic probation.
  • Assist in monitoring the progress of students on academic probation and contacting them to remind of department and institutional deadlines (enrollment. financial aid, payment, graduation) or special events (guest speakers, orientation sessions, etc.)
  • Performing other related duties assigned.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher learning.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills.
  • Knowledge of academic degree requirements.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with University students, staff, and the general public.
  • Ability to motivate students.
  • Ability to work effectively in a group setting.
  • Ability to speak in front of large groups.
  • Ability to quickly learn the functions of different offices at the University, the process and procedures required of students to achieve their goals at those offices, and the kinds of documents and forms needed for sundry situations. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Other Requirements:
  • Position requires a flexible schedule to work evening hours, as necessary.
  • Position is Temporary, subject to funding and/or need.
