Job Summary

The Laboratory Technician, under general supervision, prepares and maintains laboratory equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Sets-up and maintains equipment for the assigned laboratory and updates laboratory computers.
  • Improves and develops new experiments to be implemented into assigned laboratories.
  • Assists undergraduate and graduate students with their research projects.
  • Maintains inventory and orders parts and supplies as needed. Maintains laboratories according to Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) specifications.
  • Provides logistical support with computers in the laboratory.
  • Performs laboratory and prep room cleanup.

Minimum Requirements
  • Education - Associate degree in (STEM) field.
  • Experience - One year of related lab work experience.
Knowledge and Abilities

Knowledge of:
  • Lab room preparation and lab techniques and safety.
Ability to:
  • Multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Licensing / Professional Certification - None.

This position generally does not supervise employees.

Other Requirements
  • Evening and/or weekend work may be required.
  • Position is temporary with an effective end date of 05/06/2022.
Salary: $12.36 (hourly)
