Notre Dame of Maryland University is seeking a Director of Student Success/Title III Strengthening Institutions Project Director that will report to the Provost/Vice President for Academic Affairs. The Director will be responsible for organizing and implementing NDMUs Specialized Technology to Advance and Renew Teaching and Learning (START-L), Title III-supported program. The START-L program includes: implementation of a comprehensive early-alert/case management system for student support; roll-out of a new Early College model, as well as accelerated-degree options; training and professional development for faculty and staff on technology and advising to create a corps of "Technology and Advisement Fellows"; and expansion of successfully-proved academic enrichment resources and techniques to benefit NDMUs historic Womens College population. This is a grant-supported, full-time position subject to the continued availability of funding throughout the project period.

Essential functions will include:

  1. Lead all aspects of the title III-funded project, including personnel, programmatic, and fiscal management.
  2. Oversee progress of the funded-project and report to VPAA, President, Steering Committee, Title III Working Group, and other stakeholders on project status, goals, and outcomes.
  3. Maintain overall fiscal management of the project, to include monitoring of grant-funded and institutionally-funded General Ledge lines related to the project; reviewing and preparing appropriate spending requests for project expenses; producing required interim, final, and financial reports in coordination with project personnel, institutional leadership, the grants office, and the business office.
  4. Coordinate and lead meetings of the Steering Committee and Title III Working Group on the timetable set forth on the funded program proposal.
  5. Ensure adherence to United States Department of Education policies.
  6. Supervise Project Coordinators, Technology Coordinator, Tutoring Coordinator and Case Manager to ensure established goals are being achieved.
  7. Work collaboratively to effect change consistent with the project goals across University constituencies.
  8. Ensure project alignment with the overall University strategic plan.
  9. Gather evaluation data necessary for periodic, interim, final, and financial reports as needed and required by the Office of Institutional Research (IR) and the external evaluator.
  10. Perform as such similar, comparable, or related duties as may be required or assigned.
  • Knowledge: Masters degree required.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years management/supervisory experience; experience identifying student needs with faculty; demonstrated experience with professional development activities, early-alert systems, and integrated, education technology; familiarity with strategic planning. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and management skills. Must have experience working with staff, faculty, and administration. Experience working with grant-funded projects preferred. Past experience in higher education required.
  • Skills/Aptitude: Knowledge of Microsoft Office required; working knowledge of Colleague/Datatel, EAB Navigate or similar early-alert/case management software preferred.
  • Working Conditions: Normal office environment. Some overtime may be required. This is a grant-supported full-time position subject to the continued availability of funding throughout the project period.
