Department of Biology, Boston College, Part Time Faculty Positions
Biology Department seeks Instructors to teach the following classes:
Introduction to Genomics or Genetics: Sophomore level foundational course in genetics or genomics, covering general topics in gene structure, organization, expression and transmission.
T TH 9-10:15or
These are 4 credit courses with discussion sections (managed by graduate teaching assistants). Expected enrollment between 70-100 students.
Part time faculty receive a competitive salary on a per course basis. In addition, part time faculty in the Biology Department have shared office space to prepare lectures and meet with students. Responsibilities include:
- prepare and deliver course lectures at the assigned course time
- prepare discussion material for the graduate TAs
- write and grade examinations (with graduate TA support)
- be available for 2-3 office hours per week
- write letters of recommendation when appropriate
Qualifications: Instructors teaching lecture courses must have a PhD in an appropriate field of study. We will consider post-doctoral fellows seeking university teaching experience.
