Job Description:

The Professional School Counseling program at Russell Sage College in the Esteves School of Education provides practical, evidence-based development of future professionals as New York State certified K - 12 professional school counselors. Through the development of three new 60-credit programs that provide students with specialization within the profession, the program remains at the forefront of school counseling education. We invite applications for a full-time, professor of practice (non-tenure track) faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Education, Professional School Counseling, effective for Academic Year 2022/2023.

Qualifications:

Candidates should have experience as a licensed K - 12 school counselor and/or a doctorate in counseling education (preferred from a CACREP-accredited program) or a related field and will be responsible for teaching graduate courses in professional school counseling, advising program majors, and continuous engagement in the profession for scholarly work.

Candidates who bring a unique perspective to the department and/or have both mental health and school counseling certification are encouraged to apply. ABDs with firm date of July 1, 2022 will be considered.

Responsibilities:

The position requires a full-time teaching load of three graduate-level professional school counseling courses per semester, advising, service, and engagement in scholarly work.
