Position Announcement



Provides front office support and acts as the parking operations liaison. Also functions as the administrative assistant for the department director. This includes providing exemplary customer service, reception, clerical, secretarial, and support services, processes parking system data and serves as the liaison to the Parking Appeals Committee. Generally, performs office duties up to 28 hours per week during the hours of 9:00am - 4:00pm, Monday - Friday. Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends and in other areas of the Event Services & Risk Management Department desired.
 




Responsibilities
  • Functions as the department director's administrative assistant.
  • Assist and work collaboratively with Parking Manager maintaining and implementing effective parking practices and systems.
  • Act as liaison between Parking Manager and Parking Appeals Committee Chair, and assist Chair and Committee with information and sending decisions to appellate parties.
  • Uphold confidentiality with Utah Criminal Justice Information System (UCJIS), University platforms, and Parking Management Systems.
  • Serve as the Alt Terminal Agency Coordinator (Alt-TAC).
  • Engage with University employees, students, and the public in a friendly, professional, and respectful manner, always providing highest ethical and quality service.
  • Alert Parking Manager to parking account, system, or general issues.
  • Parking enforcement training - accurate and detailed ticket reporting, documentation, verification, follow-up, and data entry.
  • Provide support to Parking Attendant staff.
  • Exercise conflict resolution.
  • Assist with parking lot signage and closures.
  • Acts in as the Assistant Parking Manager as needed.
  • May cross train and assist in the Event Services & Risk Management Department as needed.
Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma required, some college coursework or post-secondary education preferred. If current student, must maintain at least a 2.5 GPA.
  • Experience: Minimum 2-4 years' similar experience. Criminal Justice background preferred.
  • Fingerprint background check required.
  • Exercise good judgement, be trustworthy, ethical, and self-motivated, and ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Good phone and reception etiquette with the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to concentrate on detailed projects during numerous interruptions by telephone or walk-in inquirers, and exercise conflict resolution.
  • Knowledge of general office practices and procedures and office equipment.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, and attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reports.
