Job Description

The Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a Facilities Space and Project Manager to manage or assist in the management of renovation projects. Produce CAD drawings for small renovation projects. Manage key inventory and interior signage for incoming and departing faculty, staff, or students. Improve the interior space routing network and build emergency planning layers, maps, and web applications. Assist VT Facilities in maintaining building drawings to capture renovated space. Collaborate with VMCVM departments to provide CAD plans, campus maps, and general geospatial data to improve space utilization and asset tracking. Assist with all safety related college efforts, including training and compliance documents. Participate in emergency planning processes and procedures. Maintain and expand temperature monitoring systems through collaboration with VT Building Automations or utilizing standalone systems.
This position will report directly to the CVM Director of College Facilities

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or a related field or equivalent training and/or experience.
AutoCAD proficiency (or other equivalent software)
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects; excellent organizational skills and ability to work collaboratively.
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with ability to make decisions regarding accuracy, detail, and local context.
Demonstrated patience, reliability, composure, and stability under pressure.
Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
Ability to travel to on-campus and off-campus facilities sites, with occasional overnight travel.
A strong desire to improve efficiency in projects timelines.

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced degree in engineering, science, or a related field.
Technical expertise and understanding of geospatial application and database development in order to support best practices in design and development. ESRI/ArcGIS software experience and application management.
Considerable experience in geospatial application development and database management
Experience with facilities maintenance and repair processes in higher education facilities operations.
Experience in collaborative work environments with numerous stakeholders.
Ability to create and facilitate training workshops for students, faculty, & staff
Experience with Laserfiche or similar document management software.
