Registered Nurse Supervisor, Medical Clinic
The Nursing Supervisor is a registered nurse who has responsibility for the supervision of nursing personnel; directs nursing care of patients; analyzes and conducts quality improvement initiatives and needs assessments; develops and/or maintains policies, procedures, guidelines, and clinic operations. The Nursing Supervisor provides leadership and management of Nursing Services at the Schiffert Health Center (SHC). Participates in hires, onboards, directs, mentors, develops, and schedules staff, including communicating job expectations and providing performance reviews. This position requires team management skills and a problem-solving attitude.
The Supervisor communicates and collaborates with a variety of staff including, departmental leadership, medical staff, ancillary personnel, and other departments.
Must be a Licensed Registered Nurse and have or be able to obtain licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia; at least 3 years of nursing supervisory experience or serving as a Charge Nurse in a clinical setting; demonstrated administrative and management skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to relate well with both patients and fellow workers; ability to make independent clinical judgments and demonstrate empathy for patients; ability to promote teamwork within the nursing staff and other SHC departments.
Certification in College Health Nursing; experience working in a college health setting; experience with electronic health records.
