DVM Student Support and Teaching Time Assistant
Primary responsibility for this position is to provide friendly, accurate and timely assistance to first teaching time students, faculty, staff, and guests to the Academic Affairs Office. Serves as the primary contact and support for DVM students who are in years one and two. In addition, this position provides administrative support to Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, Director of Admissions and Student Services, Office Manager and first teaching time course leaders and teaching faculty.
Previous experience working in an academic or professional office environment; strong customer service experience; experience with computer functions such as word processing, spreadsheets, and database entry; ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently with high level of attention to detail; strong communication and interpersonal skills; must be able to work independently and be selfmotivated in completing tasks; ability to work with other university offices including Registrar's Office, Graduate School, etc.
Previous experience with student support in an academic setting; experience with Canvas, and university software such as Banner Student, HokieSPA, etc.
Salary; Pay band 3 - To commensurate with experience.
