Job Description
The College of Arts and Sciences at Texas A&M International University seeks a senior person as Director of the School of Engineering and Killam Endowed Professor of Petroleum Engineering to begin Fall 2022. Responsibilities include oversight and management of the School of Engineering, which encompasses academic programs in Systems Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Computer Engineering, and a minor in Geology. The school is a rapidly growing academic unit within the college and has ten full-time faculty members. The Director of Engineering reports directly to the Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences, teaches one class a semester, and serves on a 12-month appointment.
Required Qualifications:
The successful candidate should hold a PhD in Petroleum Engineering or a related field, qualify for appointment as Associate or Full Professor, and possess outstanding interpersonal, leadership, management, and administrative skills and relevant experience. The candidate should also have an active research agenda and publication record that would qualify them for the Killam Professorship, be committed to mentoring department faculty, and committed to undergraduate instruction, scholarship and publication, grant writing, and service to the university and community.
