Position Highlights

The College of Humanities invites applications for a full-time career-track lecturer to teach classes in the Interdisciplinary Studies Program (IDS). The IDS Program is located in Tucson, Arizona but also serves students in our Online and Distance campuses. We seek applicants from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines to teach in this interdisciplinary program. Applicants must demonstrate an ability to teach undergraduate courses that focus on student success and achievement across the program's emphases.

Review of applications begins Monday, May 20, 2022 with an anticipated start date of August 15, 2022 for the 2022/2023 academic year.

Duties & Responsibilities

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Instruction of assigned course(s) per established course syllabi via assigned modalities
  • Maintain in-person and online office hours
  • Attend all pertinent program meetings
  • Coordinate Internships for Interdisciplinary Studies Program
  • Assist in assessment and reporting of achievement of programmatic learning outcomes
  • Assist in IDS mentorship program
  • Additional duties may be assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills: will need to communicate effectively with a variety of constituencies including faculty, staff, administrators, and students
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively engage diverse student populations

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree in appropriate discipline at time of application
  • Evidence of teaching excellence

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of a doctoral degree or comparable experience in a related field
  • Excellent record of college-level teaching, particularly advanced undergraduate courses
  • Interest and experience with multi-disciplinary or interdisciplinary studies
